We’ve been working with Shari Berkowitz and The Vertical Workshop for over 10 years (!), so naturally we were thrilled when she asked us to create a brand-new website for TVW to showcase her series of workouts, continuing education and teacher training programs, and workshops and products. Shari’s dream was to create a site that felt scientific yet dreamy, like a peek into a world of curiosities. To start, we spent a great deal of time digging in to the content and the structure of the site, organizing the offerings and mapping the visitor’s journey through the site in order to ensure that it would work intuitively and yet bring a sense of delight and wonder to the visitor. We then created a visual language that borrows from science, anatomy, and the physical world, while illuminating the somewhat mystical mind/body connection that exercise can bring.
